Jamshedpur, July 8: In a major development in the Himanshu Singh murder case, the prime accused, Bishwanath Mandal alias Bodra, surrendered before the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Court in Jamshedpur on Wednesday after remaining absconding for several days.
According to police, Bodra allegedly altered his appearance to evade detection before entering the court premises and surrendering.
After the completion of legal formalities, he was taken into police custody and later remanded to judicial custody.
Key Accused in June 27 Murder
Bodra is the main accused in the murder of Himanshu Singh, who was attacked outside DD Bar & Cafe in Bistupur on the night of June 27.
Following the incident, Jamshedpur Police launched an extensive manhunt, conducting raids at multiple suspected hideouts. However, the accused had managed to evade arrest until his surrender.

Police Likely to Seek Remand
Investigators are expected to seek Bodra’s police remand for detailed interrogation.
Officials believe his questioning could provide crucial information about the alleged conspiracy behind the murder, the involvement of other accused persons, and the sequence of events leading to the crime.
Police said the investigation is continuing, and further legal action will be taken based on the findings of the interrogation.
