THE JHARKHAND STORY DESK

New Delhi, Jan 14: The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has approved the creation of two additional battalions for the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), increasing its total number of battalions from 13 to 15.

Each new battalion will include 1,025 personnel, adding 2,050 new positions to the force.

These battalions, led by senior commandant officers, are expected to meet the growing demands on the CISF, particularly in areas such as internal security and managing high-security prisons.

Along with the recently approved Mahila Battalion, this expansion is set to enhance national security and generate over 2,000 new job opportunities.

With the addition, the CISF’s workforce will approach a total strength of nearly two lakh personnel.
