Jamshedpur, May 9: Panic and outrage spread across Sopodera under the Parsudih police station area on Saturday morning after the body of a minor girl was found inside the premises of Rajkiya Madhya Vidyalaya (Government Middle School).
The shocking incident triggered tension in the locality, with a large number of villagers gathering at the school soon after news of the recovery spread.
According to the official police statement, the preliminary investigation has not found any signs of sexual assault.

Parsudih police station in-charge Avinash Kumar said initial findings suggest the case appears to be one of murder, with indications that the victim may have been strangled to death.
However, he said the exact cause of death and the complete circumstances surrounding the incident would only be confirmed after the post-mortem report is received.
Police have taken the body into custody and sent it for post-mortem examination.

Several hours after the incident came to light, the identity of the deceased remained unknown. Police teams are cross-checking records of missing minor girls from nearby police station areas, while residents are also being questioned for possible leads.
Villagers demand swift action
The gruesome discovery inside a government school has sparked anger among villagers and local panchayat representatives, who demanded the immediate arrest of those responsible.
Residents also urged the administration to increase police patrolling in the area and take strict action against anti-social elements to prevent similar incidents in the future.
The investigation is underway.
