The Supreme Court issued a notice to the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on August 14, asking for its response to Ansari’s appeal against the Allahabad High Court’s order that denied him bail.

On May 9, the Allahabad High Court rejected Ansari’s bail petition.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) launched a case against Ansari under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002, based on three prior cases. He was book in this case on November 4, 2022.
