Jamshedpur, Nov 4: A mobile App for guest verification in hotels was launched by the Deputy Inspector General (Kolhan) Ajay Linda at Jamshedpur on Saturday evening.
By putting the App in place, the police will be able to have easy access to the records of the guests checked in over 150 hotels operating across the steel city at a click of a finger.
For the App, the National Informatics Centre (NIC), Jharkhand had developed software at the request of the Jamshedpur police and the Jamshedpur Hotels & Restaurants Association (JHRA).
While launching the App, the DIG, Ajay Linda said that the App will not only help police in detecting crime most effectively, but the management of hotels as well as the guest houses will also benefit immensely.
“From now on we will not have to go through the ordeal of checking records of customers by coming over to the hotels in the event of any criminal incident involving any outsider. Moreover, the App will also work as a deterrence for the criminals who tend to stay in a hotel before committing any crime,” said Linda while addressing the gathering.
On this occasion, the NIC, Jharkhand, Director, Piyush Gupta, Jamshedpur Senior SP, Kaushal Kishore, City SP, Mukesh Lunayat, SP (Rural) Rishabh Garg and SDO, Jamshedpur, Piyush Kumar were present.
JHRA president Ravesh Ranjan said that it was the first such App which has come into being in the state, adding that this is like a boon for the smooth and hassle-free running of hotels.
