Jamshedpur, June 12: Thundershowers accompanied by lightning and gusty winds reaching 30–40 km/h are likely to affect isolated parts of Jharkhand today, excluding the northwestern region, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

The IMD’s Ranchi office has also forecast stronger winds of up to 50 km/h for June 13, with similar thunderstorm activity expected in scattered areas.
Meanwhile, the Northern Limit of the southwest monsoon has advanced slowly, now extending up to latitude 30°N/longitude 85°E via Mumbai, Puri, and Balurghat.

Meteorological analysis indicates a trough from northeast Rajasthan to East Uttar Pradesh and a cyclonic circulation extending up to 1.5 km above sea level, creating favourable conditions for monsoon advancement into central and eastern India around June 14.
Residents are advised to stay updated and take precautions during gusty winds and lightning.
