Jamshedpur, Oct 9: The southwest monsoon is all set to overstay in Jharkhand.

The normal withdrawal time of monsoon from the state is around October 10. But, till now the withdrawal line is not passing through the state.

According to weathermen, the withdrawal of southwest monsoon is likely to get delayed by a week or so.

Notably, monsoon currents have become weak over the state and this has resulted in restricted rainfall activity over the state.

No significant synoptic system prevails over the state. However, southwesterly to southerly wind exists from the surface to the middle tropospheric level over the state.

The line of withdrawal of the southwest monsoon continues to pass through 29°N/84°E, Nautanwa, Sultanpur, Panna, Narmadapuram, Khargaon, Nandurbar, Navsari and 20°N/70°E.

Today, a few isolated places are expected to witness thundershower activity, said a forecast issued by IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre.
