Jamshedpur, August 5: The most anticipated Naval Tata Hockey Jharkhand Junior State Hockey Championship 2024 (Men) under the aegis of Hockey Jharkhand commenced here on Sunday at the Naval Tata Hockey Academy (NTHA).

The opening ceremony was graced by Mukul Choudhuri, Chief of Sports Tata Steel & CEO JFC along with Chandreyee Majumdar, Vice-President of Hockey Jharkhand and  Gurmeet Singh Rao, Project Director NTHA.

A total of eight teams are participating in the Junior Category (Under 19).

Four matches played so far

The inaugural match was played between Team NTHA vs Team Bokaro. By a dramatic score-line of 12-0, Team NTHA defeated Team Bokaro. Player Akshay Aind from Team Bokaro was the Player of the Match for his exceptional performance.

In the second match, Team Khunti beat Team Ramgarh by 19-0 where Sachin Bhengra from Khunti emerged as Player of the Match.

In the 3rd clash between Ranchi vs Hazaribag, Ranchi scored seven goals to beat Hazaribag 7-0.

The last match was played between Team Gumla and Team Simdega where Simdega scored six goals. Player Abhishek Tirkey from SImdega was the Player of the Match.
