Gaya, September 19: In Bihar’s Gaya, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) is conducting raids at a total of five locations, including the residence of former JDU Member of the Legislative Council (MLC) Manorama Devi.

The NIA team, along with district police, raided Manorama Devi’s residence in AP Colony of Rampur police station area around 4:30 a.m. on Thursday.

This action was taken after finding links to Naxalite activities.

During the raid, the NIA discovered several important documents at Manorama Devi’s residence. Interrogation of the people present in the house is ongoing. A large police force has been deployed outside the house, and no one is allowed to enter.

Treason case was filed against Manorama’s husband for supplying cartridges to Naxalites

Manorama Devi’s husband, Bindeshwari Yadav, was the District Council President. He was arrested by the police on charges of supplying cartridges to Naxalites and a case of sedition was registered against him.

During the investigation, cartridges were also recovered from his vehicle. The police registered a case in this matter on August 7, 2023, and the NIA subsequently took over the investigation. A new case was filed in September 2023.

Bindeshwari Yadav has since passed away. Meanwhile, Manorama Devi’s elder son, Rocky Yadav, was the main accused in the notorious road rage shooting incident. However, the High Court acquitted him due to lack of evidence.
