Daltonganj, Nov 24: The Palamu administration did its homework good this Vidhan Sabha election. It knew it would run short of male polling personnel. And it was not going to get it from any district as well.
It went a la corporate. Trusting fair gender it deployed them in good numbers and it bailed out the district.
The crunch of human resources was overcome by the abundance of female human resources. Palamu administration showed tact and strategy.
The Palamu administration relied on its own female work force. This Vidhan Sabha election it multiplied the number of its all woman booths taking their number of booths to little over 200.
This human resource management proved highly successful. The woman polling parties performed too well.
Efficient leadership by DC, DDC, CC
Again the training and EVM cells worked most flawlessly. The Nodal Officer of the training and EVM cells was the DDC Shabbir Ahmad. He and his team ensured the training for poll personnel was painless.
Karmik Koushang and Material Koushang were equally important and sensitive. It was handled by city commissioner Md Jawed Hussain. This young IAS officer never sat relaxing nor did he allow others to relax.
In this Vidhan Sabha election a picture that used to be most viral was of the trio of the District Election Officer cum Deputy Commissioner Shashi Ranjan, DDC Shabbir Ahmad and City Commissioner (CC) Md Jawed Hussain.
The trio walked together where the best front foot was obviously of the DC Shashi Ranjan.
Every action or movement of the trio was efficiently captured by the team of the public relations office under the command of the DPRO Dr Asim Kumar.
If any media person or official wanted to interact with any of the trio, it was a surety to meet any of the three.
The three, the DC, DDC and CC (city commissioner) became almost a frame for the whole of the Vidhan Sabha election.
SP ensures zero-incident poll
Palamu administration had the benefit of two-phase election of the Lok Sabha here one of the Palamu Lok Sabha seat and the other of the Chatra Lok Sabha with a gap of seven days. It enabled the administration to move its men and machine at ease.
However this Vidhan Sabha election it was a one-phase affair and hence right from the management of the human resources to the requisition for the vehicles all the odd jobs were done with precision.
If the trio carried the polls on their shoulders, SP Reeshma Ramesan and her team too remained in the front and ensured a zero-incident poll across the district.
Notable role of Returning Officers
The Returning Officer of the Bishrampur assembly constituency Kundan Kumar (additional collector) who had a massive role in the Lok Sabha election, remained conspicuous despite injury to his leg and walking down with the help of the tripod.
Returning Officer of Daltonganj assembly constituency Sulochana Meena, a very young IAS officer surprised everyone by her precise and no-nonsense performance.
Sulochana Meena had definitely her tough moment at the fag end of the counting of votes of the Daltonganj assembly constituency when the Congress candidate K N Tripathy accused the administration of stealing his legitimate votes, an accusation which the Returning Officer dismissed outright.
