The initiative is also aimed at reinforcing the police-public relationship, particularly in cases where people often assume that a lost mobile phone cannot be recovered.

Recovered phones bring relief to owners

The recovered phones were handed back to their users after verification. Some of the devices had reportedly become worn during the period they remained missing, but their return nevertheless brought considerable relief to the owners.
