Sandhya Tara, written and directed by Saikat Chatterjee and based on an original work by noted playwright Manoj Mitra, explores strained family relationships in contemporary society. The play portrays the emotional struggles of elderly parents whose children live away from home.

Saikat Chatterjee played the role of Tarashankar, while Munmun Chakraborty portrayed Sandhya Lata. Their performances were widely appreciated. Ujjwal Sinha, in the role of Shivnath, along with Kanak Lata Tirkey, Amar Kumar Bhanja, Rahul Kumar and Shyamali Ghosh, delivered strong supporting performances. Shyamali Ghosh, performing on stage for the first time, also impressed the audience.

Chatterjee was honoured at the festival for his contribution.
