New Delhi, Sept 25: Wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant has made a notable return to the ICC Test rankings, breaking back into the top 10, while stars Yashasvi Jaiswal and Jasprit Bumrah also gained ground in the latest standings issued on Wednesday.

Pant’s impressive century in India’s second innings against Bangladesh in Chennai lifted him to sixth in the Test batting rankings. Yashasvi Jaiswal, however, climbed even higher, moving to fifth with 751 rating points, driven by his key half-century in the first innings of the same match.

Bumrah ranked 2nd, Ashwin on top, Jadeja no. 1 all-rounder

Jasprit Bumrah, who picked up five wickets in the Chennai Test, including an impressive four-wicket haul, held on to his second position in the Test bowling rankings with 854 points, just behind Ravichandran Ashwin, who remains at the top with 871 points after a six-wicket haul in the second innings. Ravindra Jadeja also advanced one spot, securing sixth place.

India’s all-rounder duo, Jadeja and Ashwin, continued to dominate the all-rounders’ rankings in the long format. Jadeja leads the pack with 475 points, while Ashwin follows in second place with 370 points.

Rohit, Kohli slip in rankings, Gill surges

Despite remaining in the top 10, Rohit Sharma fell five spots to 10th, accumulating 716 rating points after two underwhelming scores. Meanwhile, Virat Kohli slipped to 12th, dropping five places following his poor performance in Chennai, where he managed just 6 and 17 runs across both innings.

An unbeaten century in the second innings of the Chennai Test helped Shubman Gill climb five spots to secure the 14th position.
