New Delhi, July 22: The budget session of Parliament started today, Monday. It is almost certain that the opposition will corner the government on several important issues, including the NEET paper leak, railway safety, and the UP government’s decision regarding the Kanwar Yatra.
Economic Survey to be presented today
The budget will be presented in Parliament tomorrow, Tuesday. Before that, today on July 22, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the Economic Survey 2023-24.
According to the business list of the Parliament, the Finance Minister will present the Economic Survey immediately after the Question Hour in the Lok Sabha at around 1 pm and in the Rajya Sabha at 2 pm.
The Economic Survey will be formally made public at 2 pm. After this, there will be a press conference of the Chief Economic Advisor at 2.30 pm.

Govt expected to introduce six bills
The Parliament’s budget session will run until August 12 with a total of 19 meetings.
The government is expected to introduce six bills. The listed bills for the session include the Finance Bill, Disaster Management Bill, Boilers Bill, Indian Aircraft Bill, Coffee Promotion and Development Bill, and Rubber Promotion and Development Bill.
There will be discussions and voting on the Demand for Grants during the session. In this sequence, the Appropriation Bill will be taken up. The budget for Jammu and Kashmir will also be discussed and passed.
Congress MP Manickam Tagore gives adjournment notice
Congress MP Manickam Tagore has given an adjournment notice, demanding a discussion on NEET and NTA. The notice seeks a discussion on the unprecedented cases of paper leaks in exams, including NEET-UG and UGC NET, and the failures of the National Testing Agency (NTA).
Congress MP Manish Tewari has also submitted an adjournment proposal in the Lok Sabha, demanding a discussion on the border situation and the significant trade deficit with China.
