Chandigarh, April 1: The Mohali POCSO Court has sentenced self-proclaimed Christian pastor Bajinder Singh, known for “Yashu-Yashu” chants, to life imprisonment. Two days ago, the court found him guilty in a 2018 sexual assault case.
The survivor welcomed the verdict, calling Bajinder a psychopath and warning that he would continue committing such crimes if released. Emphasizing the significance of the judgment, she stated that keeping him behind bars was essential and hailed the ruling as a victory for many girls.

The survivor also urged Punjab’s DGP to ensure the safety of women and voiced fears of a possible attack.
The survivor’s husband stated that they had fought for seven years for justice in this case. He accused Pastor Bajinder of misleading the court and traveling abroad despite court orders.
He further alleged that a false FIR was filed against him, he was attacked, and he had to spend six months in jail. Expressing faith in the judiciary, he said he had hoped for a strict punishment for Bajinder.
