PESB selects Manoj Sharma as IRCTC’s Director (Catering Services)

New Delhi, June 20: Manoj Kumar Sharma has been selected for appointment as Director (Catering Services) at Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Limited (IRCTC). The selection was made during a meeting of the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) held on June 19, 2025.

Currently serving as Group General Manager, IRCTC (North Zone) under the Ministry of Railways, Sharma was chosen from a panel of highly experienced candidates from various sectors of the Indian Railways and public enterprises.

Recommendation Sent to Appointments Committee of the Cabinet

Following his selection, the PESB has recommended Sharma’s name to the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC). His appointment is now subject to mandatory vigilance clearances and final approval from the ACC. Upon confirmation, he will officially take over the post of Director (Catering Services) at IRCTC.

The Director (Catering Services) plays a crucial role in overseeing one of IRCTC’s core verticals—ensuring the quality, hygiene, and efficiency of catering operations across the vast Indian Railways network.

  • Pradeep Kumar Dhiman, General Manager (Tourism), IRCTC

  • Bijay Kumar, Chief Commercial Manager, Ministry of Railways
  • Ravi Prakash Chaturvedi, Executive Director, Container Corporation of India Limited
  • Manoj Kumar Singh, Group General Manager and Zonal Head (East Zone), Ministry of Railways
  • Rashmi Gautam, Group General Manager (Static and Legal), IRCTC

Among this distinguished list, Manoj Kumar Sharma was selected for his extensive experience, proven leadership, and deep understanding of the catering and operational frameworks within the Indian Railways ecosystem.

About IRCTC and the Role

IRCTC, a Ministry of Railways PSU, is responsible for catering, tourism, and online ticketing services across Indian Railways. The Director (Catering Services) holds a key leadership role in managing catering policy formulation, service delivery mechanisms, vendor coordination, and innovation in passenger meal services, both onboard trains and at railway stations.
