Dhanbad, March 1: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, setting the tone for the Lok Sabha electioneering, today sought the people to renew the mandate and promised to expedite action against corrupt and dishonest persons.
While addressing a public rally here, the prime minister took a dig at Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) and Congress leaders and alleged that they have robbed tribal people of the state and amassed vast amounts of money through unfair means.

Lobbing a volley of questions, Modi asked from a massive gathering whether or not action should be taken against them. “Should they be sent to jail if they have looted the State? Will you forgive them for looting? They will have to issue a refund,” said the Prime Minister.
JMM-Congress considers tribals a vote bank
“When action is taken against corrupt, they make different alibi and run here and there. Congress and JMM consider tribal people their vote bank. They would not allow children of tribal people to grow and move ahead because they think only for their families. But children of tribal are children of Modi, who thinks for their welfare,” said the prime minister.
Taking a dig at a Congress MP (Dheeraj Sahu) without mentioning his name, the prime minister said he was surprised to see a mountain of cash on television.
Governance has stopped in Jharkhand: PM
The prime minister said that the development of Jharkhand has stopped. “Good governance and good law and order are needed for development, but corruption, extortion, appeasement and influx of outsiders have derailed the development,” he pointed out.
Alleging the INDI Alliance’s obstruction in implementing tribal development projects, the prime minister said they opposed his free ration distribution policy.
He said that it would continue even in future. “The migrant labourers are getting free rice not only in Jharkhand but also in whatever state they work,” he said.
Jal Jivan Mission
In his 31-minute speech, Narendra Modi alleged that due to the inaction of the JMM-Congress government, 50% of the work of the Jal Jivan Mission is still pending in Jharkhand. “PM Awas Yojna is stopped as middlemen do not get commissions on projects,” he said.
BJP state president Babulal Marandi, Union Agriculture Minister Arjun Munda, Union Minister of State for Education Annapurna Devi, MP PN Singh, and leader of Opposition Amar Bauri were present.
