Jamshedpur, March 1: In the turn of events given ensuing Lok Sabha elections, Seraikela-Kharsawan SP, Dr Vimal Kumar was replaced by Manish Toppo on Friday.

Toppo who was earlier the rural SP of Ranchi took charge as the new SP of the Seraikela-Kharsawan district from Kumar at the police office in Seraikela.

Having taken his new responsibility, Toppo said he would carry on all the good steps his predecessor had taken for maintaining the law and order in the district and providing a safer atmosphere for the residents living here.

The newly-posted Seraikela-Kharsawan SP said that he would bring about the same steps in maintaining the vehicular traffic system that he had adopted in Ranchi.

Toppo also stressed on the need to give special attention towards women’s safety while policing in the district.

Vimal Kumar transferred to Ramgarh

The transfer of Vimal Kumar to Ramgarh has been made in pursuance of the Election Commission’s directive in the wake of the Lok Sabha election.

Dr Kumar had a stint of just seven months as SP in the Seraikela-Kharsawan district.

During this short period, Kumar had taken the initiative for curbing the drug menace and also taking stringent action against the anti-social elements here in the district.  He had taken effective measures to ensure that the women and girls may lead a fearless life in the urban as well as rural areas of the district.

“I hope, my successor will pick up the good initiatives taken by me during this brief period of my posting here, ” said the erstwhile SP while handing over his charge to the new SP.
