PM Modi hails Maha Kumbh’s grandeur in Lok Sabha, calls it a reflection of India’s collective spirit

New Delhi, March 18: During the ongoing second phase of the Parliament’s Budget Session, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the Lok Sabha on the Prayagraj Maha Kumbh. He extended his gratitude to the dedicated workers and residents of Prayagraj for their contributions to the event’s successful organization.

“Today, when the entire world is going through challenging times, the grand show of this unity is our great strength. We have always said that unity in diversity is India’s speciality and we witnessed this on a grand scale in Prayagraj,” he said.

Modi emphasized the significance of the Maha Kumbh and commended the collective efforts of crores of citizens, acknowledging their role in making the grand event a success.

“I stand here to speak on Prayagraj’s Maha Kumbh. I congratulate crores of countrymen because of whom the Maha Kumbh could be organised successfully. Many people contributed to the success of the Maha Kumbh… I thank the people of India, UP and Prayagraj,” he said.

Modi emphasized that many individuals played a crucial role in making the Maha Kumbh a historic event, reflecting the nation’s collective consciousness. He noted that the younger generation actively participated with deep devotion, and those who questioned the event’s significance had received their answer. He further stated that spiritual awareness had risen across the country.

India’s deep cultural roots

Referring to his visit to Mauritius, Modi mentioned that the sacred waters of Triveni had been poured into Mauritius’ Ganga Lake, symbolizing India’s deep-rooted spiritual and cultural connections.

In the Parliament, Prime Minister Narendra Modi remarked that just as immense efforts were made to bring the sacred Ganga to Earth, a similar extraordinary effort was witnessed in the grand organization of the Maha Kumbh.

Maha Kumbh as a symbol of national consciousness

Modi stated that the world had seen India’s vast and profound essence through the Maha Kumbh, which was driven by the devotion, determination, and collective will of the people. He emphasized that the event symbolized the awakening of national consciousness, inspiring new resolutions for the country’s progress.

Recalling his address from the Red Fort, he reiterated the importance of collective effort in achieving national aspirations.

Ayodhya Ram Temple and India’s transformative moments

PM Modi referred to last year’s consecration ceremony of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, stating that it was a moment that made everyone feel the nation was preparing itself for the next thousand years.

He emphasized that history is shaped by defining moments that serve as examples for future generations. He said that India, too, has witnessed such transformative events that have awakened and inspired the nation.
