New Delhi, May 12: As India and Pakistan prepare for crucial Directors General of Military Operations (DGMO)-level talks on Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a high-level meeting at his official residence, signalling a continued focus on regional stability and national security.

The meeting saw the participation of key military and diplomatic figures, including Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, NSA Ajit Doval, Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan, and service chiefs—Air Chief Marshal AP Singh, Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi, and Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh K. Tripathi. Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri was also in attendance.

This gathering is part of a series of ongoing strategy sessions led by Modi in the aftermath of the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, reflecting India’s calibrated response on both military and diplomatic fronts.

The security meeting came just days after India and Pakistan announced a mutual agreement to cease all hostilities—whether on land, in the air, or at sea—with immediate effect. The rare understanding between the two nations has raised hopes of de-escalation along the Line of Control and other sensitive areas.
