New Delhi, Oct 8: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated the 9th India Mobile Congress in New Delhi. He highlighted that India recently launched its ‘Made in India’ 4G stack, placing the country among the five nations in the world with this capability.

The Prime Minister described this achievement as a major step toward digital self-reliance and technological independence, adding that the indigenous 4G and 5G stack will help ensure seamless connectivity for everyone.

PM Modi also noted that electronic production in India has increased sixfold since 2014, while manufacturing has grown 28 times and mobile phone exports 127 times. Over the past decade, the mobile manufacturing sector has created direct employment opportunities for lakhs of youth.

Later today, the Prime Minister will travel to Maharashtra to inaugurate the first phase of the Navi Mumbai International Airport, the country’s largest greenfield airport, built at a cost of ₹19,650 crore.

PM Modi will also inaugurate Phase 2B of Metro Line-3, from Acharya Atre Chowk to Cuffe Parade in Mumbai, and launch ‘STEP’ (Short Term Employment Program) aimed at creating job opportunities for youth.
