New Delhi, Sept 5: Marking the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Droupadi Murmu on Friday conveyed their wishes to the nation, highlighting the Prophet’s message of peace, unity, and service to humanity.
President Murmu, in her message on X, emphasized that the occasion should inspire citizens to move forward with the spirit of brotherhood.

“On the auspicious occasion of the birthday of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), Milad-un-Nabi, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to all my fellow countrymen, especially our Muslim brothers and sisters. Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) has given the message of unity and service to humanity. On this sacred occasion, we should resolve to move forward with the spirit of brotherhood, drawing inspiration from his teachings,” she noted.

Prime Minister Modi, too, extended his wishes on the occasion of Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi. “Best wishes on the occasion of Milad-un-Nabi. May this sacred day bring with it peace and well-being in our society. May the values of compassion, service and justice always guide us. Eid Mubarak!” he said in his post.

Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi, also called Mawlid, is observed on the 12th day of Rabi Ul Awwal, the third month in the Islamic calendar. The day is marked more by remembrance than by celebration, focusing on the life, teachings, and character of Prophet Muhammad, who even forgave his enemies.
