Jamshedpur, July 24: Former Tata Steel executive Prabhat Sharma has been appointed as the Director of the East Zone of the Public Relations Council of India (PRCI). The official notification announcing his appointment was issued by the Bengaluru-headquartered PRCI.
A seasoned corporate professional, Sharma brings with him over 35 years of rich experience in corporate planning, strategic communication, project execution, stakeholder management, and business risk assessment.
His leadership and strategic acumen have helped various organisations drive growth and build resilience through effective planning and seamless communication.

Throughout his career, Sharma has been instrumental in guiding organisations towards operational excellence by formulating impactful strategies, managing critical projects, and engaging with diverse stakeholders.
His expertise in risk assessment and mitigation has played a key role in ensuring sustainable outcomes for businesses he has been associated with.
In recognition of his contributions, Sharma was conferred with the prestigious “Chanakya Award for Excellence in Stakeholder Management” by PRCI in 2022. He is also a regular columnist known for his insights into business strategy and corporate governance.

Following his retirement from Tata Steel after more than three decades of service, Sharma is currently engaged as a consultant with several companies, offering guidance in corporate strategy and communication.
With his appointment, PRCI aims to strengthen its presence in the eastern region and promote excellence in public relations, communication, and corporate affairs across Jharkhand, West Bengal, Odisha, and neighbouring states.
