Jamshedpur, Dec 29: President of India, Droupadi Murmu, arrived in Jamshedpur on Monday and was accorded a warm and formal reception at the Sonari Airport by East Singhbhum Deputy Commissioner (DC) Karn Satyarthi.

On behalf of the district administration, the Deputy Commissioner presented a bouquet to the President and extended a cordial welcome.
Senior civil and police officials were present at the airport to receive the President as part of the official protocol.

Her arrival marked the commencement of a series of scheduled engagements in the district, highlighting the importance of the visit for the region.
Ahead of the President’s movement, security across Jamshedpur was significantly intensified.
From Sonari Airport to Karandih Chowk, the entire route was placed under close surveillance with multi-layered security deployment, strict monitoring, and thorough checks to ensure safety and smooth movement.

The President’s convoy proceeded towards Dishom Jaher under tight security cover, while traffic arrangements were carefully managed to maintain order across the city.
Authorities remained on high alert throughout the transit.
President Murmu is set to attend the closing ceremony commemorating 100 years of the Ol Chiki script at Karandih—a landmark event celebrating Santhal heritage, culture, and linguistic identity.
The venue has been secured with stringent access controls, and entry is being permitted only after rigorous verification of delegates and attendees.
Officials have confirmed that all necessary arrangements and precautions are in place to ensure the event is conducted smoothly, underscoring both the historic significance of the occasion and the importance of the President’s presence at the centenary celebrations.
Later in the day, the President would also attend the convocation ceremony at the Adityapur-based NIT Jamshedpur.
