New Delhi, Dec 12: President Droupadi Murmu has granted assent to the Bharatiya Vayuyan Vidheyak, a landmark bill aimed at enhancing the designing and manufacturing of aircraft in India.
This new legislation, which replaces the 90-year-old Aircraft Act, was approved by Parliament earlier this month.

A notification dated December 11 confirms that the President has given assent to the bill.

The legislation aims to eliminate redundancies and replace the Aircraft Act of 1934, which has undergone 21 amendments.
