New Delhi, May 7: Congress has lauded the Indian Army’s successful execution of ‘Operation Sindoor’, which destroyed nine terrorist hideouts in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and MP Rahul Gandhi held a press conference on the operation, stating that the party salutes the bravery of the armed forces and stands firmly with both the Army and the government. “We are proud of our armed forces,” they said.

They praised the courageous and fitting response given to terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) under the operation, commending the bravery, determination, and patriotism of the Indian soldiers involved.

The Congress leaders reiterated that ever since the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, the party has consistently stood in solidarity with the armed forces and the government, supporting all decisive action against cross-border terrorism.

They emphasized that India’s national policy against terrorism originating from Pakistan and PoK is firm and unambiguous.

Highlighting the need for national unity, they said this is a time when the entire nation must stand together to protect India’s unity and integrity. The Congress party stands shoulder to shoulder with the country’s brave soldiers.

They also noted that history is witness to the sacrifices made by India’s heroes in defense of national unity and interest. “The nation and the world know that we fully support our soldiers in protecting the country’s sovereignty, unity, and freedom,” the leaders said.

These sentiments were also discussed during the Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting, where Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, and all other CWC members expressed their full support.
