New Delhi, June 28: As soon as the Lok Sabha proceedings resumed this afternoon, the opposition again started creating a ruckus on the NEET issue. Due to this, the Lok Sabha proceedings were again disrupted. After this, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla announced the adjournment of the House till 11 am on Monday.
Rahul raises NEET issue in the House demanding discussion
Earlier today, as the Lok Sabha proceedings began on Friday, opposition leader Rahul Gandhi raised the issue of NEET in the House and demanded a discussion on it.
In response, Speaker Om Birla said that during the discussion on the President’s address, Rahul could raise any topic and could present his views in detail.
On this, Rahul Gandhi requested the Speaker for two minutes of time. The Speaker replied that he could take not just two minutes but the entire time allocated to his party.

Following this, the Speaker asked the members to place the form marked in front of their names on the House table.
Subsequently, opposition members began chanting slogans and creating a ruckus. Due to the commotion, Speaker Om Birla adjourned the House proceedings until 12 noon.
Opposition wants to discuss NEET issue in a respectful manner: Rahul
Rahul Gandhi said that the opposition wants to discuss this issue related to the youth in a respectful manner and Prime Minister Narendra Modi should participate in it.
Later, he also told reporters in the Parliament House complex that the message should go from the Parliament that the government and the opposition of the country are talking together about the interests of the students.
The Congress leader said, yesterday there was a meeting of the leaders of the House of opposition parties. In that, everyone was of the opinion that today they should discuss the issue of NEET.
“We wanted to give a joint message to the students of India, on behalf of the Opposition and the Government – that we consider this an important issue. So, we thought that to respect students we will have discussion on NEET today, a dedicated discussion.”, Rahul Gandhi stated.
