Katihar, August 23: The Congress-led Voter Adhikar Yatra (Voter Rights March) reached Katihar on Saturday. During the yatra, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, along with former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, interacted with members of the fishing and makhana farming communities in Katihar.

They were joined by Son of Mallah leader Mukesh Sahani, Pappu Yadav, and other INDIA bloc leaders. The yatra is passing through the Kodha Assembly constituency of Katihar district.

There was visible enthusiasm among people eager to meet Rahul Gandhi, and in view of the large crowds, the administration remained on high alert.

Responding to the FIRs filed against him, Tejashwi Yadav said, “Who is afraid of an FIR? Has using the word ‘jumla’ also become a crime now? They are afraid of the truth. We are not scared of any FIR, we will continue to speak the truth.”

Meanwhile, Katihar’s Kodha constituency has been covered with banners and posters by Congress and RJD alliance workers in support of the yatra.
