Raksha Bandhan: Schoolgirls tie rakhi to Jamshedpur SSP, strengthen bond of trust

Jamshedpur, August 27: A warm Raksha Bandhan moment unfolded at the office of East Singhbhum Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ahtesham Waquarib on Thursday, when schoolgirls visited him to tie rakhi and extend their festive greetings.

The interaction highlighted the spirit of Raksha Bandhan as a bond of trust, respect and protection, while also strengthening the connection between the police and the community.

Students appreciate police role in public safety

The students appreciated the efforts of the police in maintaining law and order, ensuring public safety and fostering a peaceful environment across the district.

After receiving the rakhis, Waquarib extended his greetings to the students and said Raksha Bandhan was not merely a traditional festival but also an occasion to reaffirm the values of trust, respect, security and social responsibility.

He stressed that ensuring the safety of women and girls was a collective responsibility and encouraged the students to pursue their education with confidence and determination.

‘Girls should move ahead fearlessly’

“Girls should move ahead fearlessly, focus on their education and work towards becoming self-reliant. When daughters are safe, educated and empowered, society and the nation become stronger,” the SSP said.

Waquarib also blessed the students and presented them with gifts, wishing them a safe, successful and bright future.

The students described the interaction as memorable, saying such gestures helped strengthen the bond of trust between the police and the community.
