Two decades of work in laser vision correction

Dr Kashyap has been practising laser vision correction in Jharkhand for around two decades. During this period, she has treated a large number of patients seeking freedom from spectacles and corrective lenses.

According to Dr Kashyap, spectacle-free vision has helped many young people meet prescribed visual standards for careers in sectors such as the police, aviation, air services, locomotive operations and the merchant navy.

Beyond professional requirements, she said improved vision has also had a positive impact on the confidence and day-to-day quality of life of many patients.

AI-enabled technology used for advanced vision correction

Dr Kashyap said her institute has been using advanced, AI-enabled laser vision correction technology for the past two years.

She said the technology has been used not only for routine refractive procedures but also in managing more complex corneal conditions, including keratoconus.

The clinical experience and findings from these procedures formed part of the research presented at the Delhi conference, where they received appreciation from ophthalmologists and refractive surgery specialists.

Jharkhand’s ophthalmology work gains wider recognition

The award adds to the growing visibility of specialised ophthalmology work being undertaken in Jharkhand. Dr Kashyap’s research and clinical experience have also been presented at scientific forums in Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai.

The recognition, according to the institute, reflects the increasing use of advanced ophthalmic technology and specialised treatment approaches in the state, enabling patients to access modern eye-care services closer to home.

The Keratos Excellence Award also highlights the contribution of clinicians from Jharkhand to the wider national conversation on refractive surgery, laser technology and the management of complex corneal disorders.
