Ranchi, Nov 14: The Jharkhand Yonex Sunrise Men’s and Women’s Senior Badminton Championship is set to commence tomorrow, running from November 15 to 17 at the Thakur Vishwanath Shahdeo Indoor Stadium in Khelgaon, Ranchi.
Organized by the Ranchi District Badminton Association (RDBA), the championship will feature over 100 male and female players from across 24 districts and various institutions, competing over three days.
RDBA Secretary NK Dey announced that the performance of players in this championship will serve as the basis for selecting the Jharkhand state team for the National Senior Badminton Championship, scheduled for December in Bengaluru.

National and state-level referees and technical experts will supervise the championship to ensure a fair and competitive environment.
In addition to the state senior badminton championship, RDBA will host the Ranchi District Ranking Badminton Championship on the same dates.
“Besides the state senior badminton championship, we (the district body) are also going to organise the Ranchi District Ranking Badminton Championship on the same dates (November 15 to 17)”, said secretary NK Dey.
Over 250 players from the district are participating in this ranking tournament. Matches will begin at 9 a.m. each day and run until late evening.
“All arrangements have been made to kick off the championship as scheduled,” added Dey.
