Dhanbad, Oct 3: The newly formed regional party, Jharkhand Loktantrik Krantkari Morcha (JLKM), led by Jayram Mahto, announced its candidates for the upcoming Jharkhand Assembly elections on Thursday.

During a press conference at the Dhanbad circuit house, Mahto stated that his party intends to contest all 81 seats in the state independently.

Having previously contested the Lok Sabha elections from Giridih, where he secured around 350,000 votes, he revealed his decision to run from the Dumri seat in Giridih.

The other nominees include Rohit Kumar Das from Jamua, Motilal Sarkar from Rajmahal, Dayamanti Munda from Tamar, Prem Mardi from Sarikela, and Priti Raj from Chhatterpur.

Jayram Mahto, who has garnered support in select areas, mentioned that both the NDA and the INDI Alliance had approached him for an alliance in the elections. However, he declined their proposals, opting instead to contest independently.

He confirmed that his party would compete in all six seats within the Dhanbad district and that preparations are already underway.

Currently, the BJP holds four seats in Dhanbad, while the Congress and the JMM hold one seat each (Jharia and Tundi, respectively).
