RANCHI, May 30: A postgraduate doctor of the Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) was found dead under suspicious circumstances at a residence near Katahal Mor in Ranchi, police said.

The deceased has been identified as Dr. Sanu Sanal Barwar (32), a first-year postgraduate student in the Department of Surgery at RIMS.

According to sources, Dr. Barwar’s body was recovered from a house in the Katahal Mor area on Friday. The incident has sent shockwaves through the locality and the RIMS community, where he was pursuing his postgraduate studies while also carrying out clinical duties at the hospital.

Police Launch Investigation

After receiving information about the death, police reached the spot, took custody of the body and sent it for post-mortem examination.

Officials said the exact cause of death remains unknown at this stage. Investigators are examining all possible angles and questioning people associated with the case.

Police said the circumstances surrounding the death would become clearer only after the post-mortem report is received.

Shock and Grief at RIMS

The sudden death of the young doctor has left fellow students, resident doctors and faculty members shocked.

An atmosphere of grief prevailed on the RIMS campus following the news, with colleagues remembering Dr. Barwar as an active postgraduate student in the Department of Surgery.

Several doctors have called for a fair and impartial investigation to determine the circumstances leading to his death.

Police officials said no conclusions can be drawn until forensic and post-mortem findings are available. The investigation is currently underway.

Further details are awaited.
