Ranchi, April 17: In a significant development in the money laundering case linked to senior IAS officer Pooja Singhal, the special PMLA (Prevention of Money Laundering Act) court in Ranchi has allowed Bhubaneswar resident Rizwan Nazir to represent Pulse Sanjeevani Healthcare Hospital during the trial proceedings.

This effectively replaces Abhishek Jha—Singhal’s husband—who had previously been involved in court proceedings on behalf of the hospital.

The decision follows a petition filed by Pulse Sanjeevani Healthcare requesting that Rizwan Nazir, appointed by the company’s board, be allowed to appear in court in place of Jha. The company cited a resolution passed in its board meeting held on July 31, 2024, as the basis for the change.

Despite objections raised by the Enforcement Directorate’s special public prosecutor, the court accepted the request and granted Nazir permission to represent the hospital going forward.

Pulse Hospital has been named as an accused in the money laundering case involving Pooja Singhal.

Investigators allege that ₹3 crore in cash was paid to Panchwati Builders for the purchase of land on Bariatu Road in Ranchi, raising suspicions over the source of funds. Based on this, the ED had named the hospital as a co-accused in the high-profile case.
