Jamshedpur, May 6: Train services across the South Eastern Railway zone are expected to remain affected between May 12 and 16 due to non-interlocking (NI) work at Rupsa Yard under the Kharagpur division.
Several major long-distance trains, including Rajdhani and Neelachal Express services, are likely to run behind schedule during the period.

Rajdhani, Neelachal Express to Run Late
Railway officials said the work is part of a major upgrade of signalling and track infrastructure aimed at improving safety and operational efficiency.
According to railway sources:
- The Anand Vihar–Puri Neelachal Express on May 12 will depart around 90 minutes late.
- The Bhubaneswar–New Delhi Rajdhani Express on May 14 and 15 is expected to leave nearly an hour behind schedule.
- The New Delhi–Bhubaneswar Rajdhani Express on May 16 will run about two hours late from its originating station.
Passengers Advised to Check Train Status
The delays are expected to impact passengers travelling through Tatanagar, Chakradharpur, Rajkharsawan and nearby stations, especially during the ongoing summer travel rush.
“We understand the inconvenience, but passengers should check the live train status before leaving for the station. Once completed, the upgraded system will ensure smoother and safer train movement,” a railway official said.
A passenger waiting at Tatanagar station said, “Summer rush is already very high, and delays will make travel more difficult, but if the work improves safety and punctuality in the long run, passengers will cooperate.”
