Daltonganj, May 7: Palamu Deputy Commissioner Dilip Pratap Singh Shekhawat has issued an order directing officials and employees in the collectorate to remain in office till he continues working in his chamber beyond official hours.

The order, issued on May 6, stated that heads of offices and personnel from various departments in the Palamu collectorate were leaving their offices even while the Deputy Commissioner was still discharging official duties in his chamber located in Block A of the collectorate.

DC Calls Early Departure Against Official Propriety

According to the order, such departure by officials and employees during the Deputy Commissioner’s presence in office was considered against the “propriety and decency” of official duty.

The directive asked officials and staff members to remain in the office till the DC leaves his chamber in the evening, even after normal office hours.

Sources said some women employees have sought relaxation in the implementation of the order.

No official response has yet been issued regarding the demand for exemption or flexibility for women staff members.
