Sachin Tendulkar attends special screening of ‘Sam Bahadur’

Mumbai, Dec 3: Legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar attended the special screening of Vicky Kaushal’s recently released biopic drama movie ‘Sam Bahadur’ on Saturday night.

Tendulkar was joined by his spouse, Anjali Tendulkar. At the screening, he was also spotted posing with Vicky.

After the screening, Sachin expressed admiration for the film, stating, “It’s a very good film. I was super impressed by Vicky’s acting. It truly felt like Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw was present. The body language was incredible. It’s an important film for all generations to watch, to know the history of our country.”

Vicky posted a photo of himself with Tendulkar on Instagram along with the caption, “My childhood hero saw my Film today! #IAmOk !!! Thank you @sachintendulkar Sir for your kind words… I’ll cherish them for a lifetime.”

In addition to Tendulkar, cricketers Zaheer Khan and Ajit Agarkar were also present at the screening.

‘Sam Bahadur’ had a satisfactory opening day at the box office. In India, the movie made Rs 6.25 crores on its first day of release.

Under the direction of Meghna Gulzar, the film featured leading performances by Sanya Malhotra and Fatima Sana Shaikh.

‘Sam Bahadur’ narrates the life story of India’s first Field Marshal, Sam Manekshaw. With a military career extending over four decades and encompassing five wars, he became the first Indian Army officer to attain the rank of Field Marshal. Affectionately known as ‘Sam Bahadur,’ Manekshaw played a pivotal role in leading the Indian Army to success in the 1971 Indo-Pak war, leading to the establishment of Bangladesh.

During his military tenure, Manekshaw played a vital role in the Indo-Pak War of 1947 and the liberation of Hyderabad in 1948.

Regarding portraying the lead character in the movie, Vicky expressed, “Playing the role of Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw is an immense responsibility and a huge honour. We’ve poured our hearts into bringing to life one of India’s great heroes on screen. I’m humbled to be a part of this project that is so inspiring.”
