Jamshedpur, Nov 3: In a pioneering move towards citizen-friendly digital governance, the Divisional Railway Hospital, Chakradharpur, under South Eastern Railway (SER), has achieved a remarkable milestone by introducing the same-day issuance of birth certificates and Aadhaar enrollment for newborns.

This initiative marks a first-of-its-kind achievement not only in Jharkhand but also across all Railway Hospitals under SER, setting a new benchmark in integrated public service delivery.

With this new system, parents of newborns will now receive their child’s birth certificate and Aadhaar enrolment acknowledgment along with the hospital’s discharge certificate, all on the same day.

The move eliminates the need for separate applications and multiple visits to government offices—ensuring speed, convenience, and efficiency for families at a crucial time.

The breakthrough has been made possible through the co-ordinated efforts of Chakradharpur Division, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), and the office of the District Collector, West Singhbhum.
Their seamless collaboration has enabled real-time data sharing and verification, making instant documentation a reality.
Officials described the initiative as a significant stride under the Government of India’s Digital India and Ease of Living vision, designed to simplify essential processes through technology integration.
“This initiative ensures that every child receives a legal identity from the very moment of birth,” said a senior SER official.
