THE JHARKHAND STORY NETWORK

Daltonganj, Dec 4: 1991 batch IFS officer Satyajit Singh has been notified as HoFF (Head of the Forest Force).

A notification to this effect has been issued by the Jharkhand Forest, Environment and Climate Change Department.

Satyajit Singh is already the Principal Chief Conservator of Forest and Chief Wildlife Warden of Jharkhand.

Singh has a vast experience in wildlife management. He knows Palamu Tiger Reserve (PTR) from the core of his heart.

However, as HoFF Satyajit Singh has to be very decisive. Forest officials are seen as one who lives in green cottages and hardly believe in mixing with ordinary mortals.

It is believed the new HoFF will do all to connect forest officials with the masses.

Forest officials should take lessons from the mining officials whose job is no less dangerous these days following a strong pattern for illicit mining etc.

The new HoFF who is down to earth may like to see how his forest personnel right from forest guard to ranger mitigate the sufferings of the poor and make spaces for the common people to do their bits for the jungles.
