Sukma, July 20: In Chhattisgarh’s Naxal-affected Sukma district, there was an encounter between security forces and Naxalites. During this confrontation, the security personnel killed one Naxalite, whose identity has not yet been confirmed.
The forces recovered a gun, a wireless set, a large quantity of explosives, and other items from the scene. Meanwhile, the operation against Naxalites in the area continues.
Officials received information about Naxal presence
According to officials, information was received about the presence of Naxalites from the Jagargunda Area Committee in Sukma’s Jagargunda police station area.

Based on this information, a team from the District Reserve Guard (DRG) was dispatched for a patrol on Friday night.
When the patrol team reached the forests of Tumaar Gatta and Singavaram villages on Saturday morning, the Naxalites began firing at them.
The security forces responded with counter-fire. After a brief exchange of gunfire, the Naxalites fled the area.
Later, when the security forces searched the site, they found the body of a Naxalite, a shotgun, a wireless set, a large quantity of explosives, and other items.
