Narayanpur, June 8: A senior police official stated that at least seven Naxals were killed in an encounter with District Reserve Group (DRG) personnel along the inter-district border of Narayanpur, Dantewada, and Kondagaon.
Narayanpur Superintendent of Police Prabhat Kumar stated that weapons have been recovered and the operation is ongoing.
He mentioned that seven bodies of the Naxals were found at the encounter site.

Three jawans from the Narayanpur DRG, injured in the Friday night encounter, were airlifted from the Gobel area in the East Bastar Division to a hospital.
Police reported that the 45th Battalion of ITBP and a combined team of DRG from Narayanpur, Kondagaon, Dantewada, and Jagdalpur were conducting an anti-Maoist operation in the Abujhmad area when the Maoists opened fire on the forces. The attack was quickly countered by the forces in response.
