Jamshedpur, August 1: Sona Devi University is set to welcome its new batch of undergraduate and postgraduate students with an Induction-cum-Orientation Programme on August 13, marking the commencement of the 2026-27 academic session.
The event holds special significance as it will be organised for the first time at the university’s permanent campus in Kitadih, unlike previous years when the orientation programme was conducted at different venues in Jamshedpur.
Freshers to Get Comprehensive Introduction to University Life
The induction programme has been designed to help newly admitted students seamlessly transition into university life by familiarising them with the institution’s academic environment, core values, academic regulations, campus infrastructure and student support services.
Students will also be introduced to the wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes offered by the university.
Faculty members and senior university officials will interact with the freshers, providing insights into academic expectations, research opportunities, career prospects, skill development initiatives and various aspects of campus life.
Vice-Chancellor Invites ICC HCL Executive Director
As part of the preparations, Vice-Chancellor Braj Mohan Pat Pingua paid a courtesy visit to ICC HCL Executive Director Umesh Singh and formally invited him to attend the programme as a distinguished guest.
During the meeting, the Vice-Chancellor briefed Singh on the university’s academic initiatives, recognised programmes and long-term vision for quality higher education.
Umesh Singh appreciated the university’s efforts to promote academic excellence and wished the institution success in organising the induction programme.
University Registrar Nit Nayana was also present during the meeting.
Parents Also Expected to Attend
The university expects enthusiastic participation from newly enrolled students and their parents, with the programme aimed at providing a smooth and inspiring start to the students’ higher education journey.
The orientation will also offer an opportunity for students to interact with faculty members, understand the university’s academic ecosystem and become acquainted with the resources available to support their personal and professional growth.
