South Eastern Railway achieves highest ever freight loading performance in 2023-24

Jamshedpur, April 2: With the consistent trend of registering outstanding performance, South Eastern Railway (SER) has completed the financial year 2023-24 with a record freight loading of 211.59 Million Tonnes.

This is the highest-ever freight loading performance of South Eastern Railway. In comparison to the previous year, SER has registered a growth of 4.43 per cent in originating freight loading.

Revenue generation from freight loading during 2023-24 has also been the highest ever. In 2023-24, SER earned Rs.19,053 crore from originating freight traffic as against Rs18,225.47 crore earned in 2022-23 registering a growth of 4.54 per cent.

Coal loading during the financial year 2023-24 has been 53.33 Million Tonnes which is 3.28 per cent more than that of the previous year.

There has been a substantial increase in the loading of Iron Ore (5.73%), Cement (1.16%), Fertilizer (27.5%), Container (10.74%), Steel (3.16%) and POL (10.76%).
