THE JHARKHAND STORY NETWORK

Daltonganj, December 14: Following massive anti-railway sentiments against the Indian railway among the passengers, the railway finally rolled back its earlier notification of ‘total cancellation’ of its Up and Dn Hatia Anand Vihar express train beginning from December 4 to February 28 and December 5 to March 1 for Dn Anand Vihar Hatia express train.

Assistant transportation manager Kaushik Mukherjee of the office of the principal chief operations manager of the South Eastern Railway Kolkata, in the notification dated December 13, announced ‘restoration of the cancelled Up and Dn Hatia Anand Vihar express trains with effect from December 14 for Up and December 15 for Dn trains.’

All concerned railway stations where these Up and Dn trains have stoppages have been asked to send SMS to passengers about restoring these trains. Again, announcements are to be made for the convenience of the passengers, too.

The total cancellation of Hatia Anand Vihar express train 12873 Up and Dn Anand Vihar Hatia express train 12874 was made due to foggy conditions of the year 2023 -24.

However, the railway found it hard to convince the passengers that fog alone disturbs this train when, on average, India runs more than 13,000 passenger trains daily in the same winter condition.

It is essential to note that Palamu BJP MP V D Ram took this cancellation quite seriously and petitioned the chairman cum chief executive officer of the railway board, Delhi Jaya Verma Sinha, urging her to revoke this cancellation and restore its operational services.

The MP’s hard work forced the railway to revert to its old position to run this Hatia Anand Vihar express train up and down.

The station superintendent of the Daltonganj railway station, Umesh Kumar, has expressed relief for the restoration of this train, citing this train is mainly used by the migrant workers here.
