Dhanbad, Oct 29: The Springer Nature India Research Bus reached IIT (ISM) Dhanbad on Wednesday as part of its nationwide tour to promote research awareness and strengthen India’s academic and scientific ecosystem.

The initiative is being organised by Springer Nature India in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Government of India. The Research Bus Tour, which began on October 6, 2025, will continue until November 11, 2025, covering seven states, 17 cities, and 29 premier educational and research institutions across the country.

‘A Proud Moment During IIT (ISM)’s Centenary Year’
Welcoming the Research Bus, Prof Partha Sarathi Das, Dean (Research & Development), IIT (ISM), described the visit as a “proud moment for the institute during its hundredth year.”

“I sincerely thank Springer Nature for creating this platform where research excellence meets academic enthusiasm. When research and nature come together, they reflect the true spirit of institutions like IIT (ISM). This collaboration inspires us to pursue science and technology with purpose, ethics, and innovation,” said Prof Das.

Prof Dheeraj Kumar, Deputy Director, IIT (ISM), lauded the initiative as an innovative way to bring the research publishing ecosystem directly to campuses.

“It is inspiring to see Springer Nature arriving at our doorstep with this mobile research platform. Recognising our top researchers through a rigorous and transparent process highlights the high-quality research being carried out across diverse domains at IIT (ISM),” he said.
Venkatesh Sarvasiddhi, Managing Director, Springer Nature India, praised IIT (ISM)’s legacy of research and academic excellence, calling it “a model for innovation and interdisciplinary collaboration in India.”
