Khammam, Nov 9: Income Tax officers raided Congress politician Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy’s home in Telangana’s Khammam district on Thursday before the state election, officials stated.
Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy is running in the Khammam district’s Palair constituency for the elections on November 30.
“Income tax officials reportedly conducted raids on the residence of Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy,” officials said.
Reddy, a former Lok Sabha member, recently switched from BRS to join Congress.
The former President of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and current Chief Minister of Telangana, K Chandrashekhar Rao, criticized the Congress party by mentioning that they had governed the state for five decades and had treated Telangana unfairly.
“Earlier, there was no fresh water, no drinking water, industries shut down without electricity, farmers suicide and others. After the formation of Telangana, we are resolving the issues one by one. We have resolved the issues of water and electricity,” he said.
The Telangana Assembly elections are scheduled for November 30, and the vote counting for Telangana will take place simultaneously with four other states on December 3.
