Telangana polls: BJP releases fourth list of 12 candidates

New Delhi, Nov 7: The Bharatiya Janata Party on Tuesday released its fourth list of candidates for the Telangana Assembly elections, which includes 12 individuals, one of whom is a woman.

Following a meeting on Tuesday at the party headquarters in Delhi to finalize the names of its remaining candidates for the Rajasthan and Telangana assembly elections, the BJP’s Central Election Committee revealed the list.

As per the roster, Vedapally Sriram Chakravarthy is set to run for the Husnabad assembly constituency, while Tula Uma has been nominated to contest from the Vemulawada assembly constituency.

Azmeera Prahlad Naik will run from the Mulug assembly seat, while Durgam Ashok will run from Chennur.

Additional candidates listed in the release consist of Peddinti Naveen Kumar, who will compete in the Vikrabad constituency, Boya Shiva running in Gadwal, and Sadineni Srinivas nominated for the Miryalguda assembly seat.

Earlier on November 2, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) unveiled a list of 35 candidates for Telangana’s forthcoming Legislative Assembly on Thursday.

The Telangana Assembly elections are scheduled for November 30, and the vote counting for Telangana will take place simultaneously with four other states on December 3.

During the last Assembly election in 2018, the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), formerly known as the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), secured victory in 88 out of the 119 seats, capturing 47.4 percent of the overall vote share. The Congress, on the other hand, trailed behind with a mere 19 seats, coming in second place.
