Alluri, June 18: In a significant blow to Maoist operations, security forces gunned down three senior insurgents — including Uday, the Secretary of the Andhra-Odisha Border Special Zonal Committee (AOBSZC), and Aruna, the East Division Secretary — in Alluri Sitharama Raju district.

The encounter took place in a forested region along the Andhra-Odisha Border, a known Maoist stronghold.

Confirming the development, the district’s Superintendent of Police stated that all three Maoists were neutralized during the operation conducted by security personnel.
