Jamshedpur, Nov 22: A major road accident took place on the Tata–Chaibasa Road under the Rajnagar police station area on Saturday morning.
Near Chaliyama, a speeding Hyva truck reportedly lost control and overturned onto an e-rickshaw ahead of it, killing two passengers on the spot and leaving three others critically injured.
Local residents rushed the injured victims to a nearby hospital for immediate treatment.

According to eyewitnesses, the Hyva suddenly became uncontrollable before crushing the e-rickshaw.

The sudden mishap caused panic at the spot. Police reached the location soon after receiving the information and initiated the process of removing the overturned vehicle from the road.
Traffic came to a standstill as a long traffic snarl was reported on the Tata–Chaibasa state highway following the accident.
Police worked to regulate vehicular movement and restore normal traffic flow.
Officials said the Hyva driver fled the spot after the incident, and efforts are underway to trace him. The exact cause of the accident is being investigated.

Local residents expressed concern over rising road accidents on the highway and demanded immediate measures to improve safety.
Meanwhile, the injured continue to receive treatment, and authorities have increased monitoring along the route to prevent such mishaps in future.
