Mandla, April 2: In a major success for anti-Naxal operations, two women Naxals, each carrying a bounty of ₹14 lakh, were shot dead in an encounter with the Hawk Force in Madhya Pradesh’s Mandla district on Wednesday morning.

The police recovered an SLR rifle, another firearm, a wireless set, and other items from their possession.

The operation took place in a forested area under the jurisdiction of the Bichhiya police station, where Hawk Force engaged the Naxals in a gunfight.

The Director General of Police confirmed the encounter via a post on X, stating that further search operations were underway.

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav praised the police for their vigilance and reiterated the government’s commitment to eliminating Naxal influence in the state.

He emphasized that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the guidance of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Madhya Pradesh has been actively running a campaign against Naxals.

He also highlighted that over the past year, security forces have neutralized more than 10 Naxals in various encounters, with no casualties reported among the police personnel.
